Dive into the fresh waterways of the ancient region of Brunca with some of the community's most passionate representatives in ‘Native to Brunca: Dí’. 'Dí' means water in the Boruca Indigenous Language and it is at the heart of the Boruca people's respectful approach to the world around them. What remains of the Boruca Indigenous Community’s territory is protected by decree, but what stands them apart is the fact that the Borucan legendary protector figure of Cuasrán is ever-present in modern Borucan thought and practice, keeping the community and their natural surroundings safe for the future.
Starting at the source, both with respect to our drinkable water, and the origins of the Boruca people’s attitude to the offerings of the natural world, this film suggests that the solutions to our modern problems are much older and simpler than we think, all through the eyes of members of the Boruca Indigenous Community and members of some of the Brunca region's most successful conservation initiatives.
